Share the Valentine’s Day love with On the Spot!

Looking to gorge yourself on cookies and other baked treats  while donating menstrual supplies to girls in need around the Pittsburgh region? You’re in luck, On the Spot will be hosting another party to gather donations to supply girls with the menstrual supplies they need. Show some Valentine’s Day love to young girls by supporting their well being!

When: Thursday, February 12th, 6pm – 8pm

Where: Hough’s in Greenfield (563 Greenfield Avenue)

Costs: $10 or $5 and a package of pads or tampons (pads preferred)

All the stuff you love will be back: raffle prizes, a 50/50, and of course, multiple cookie tables!

We supply sixty eight schools with supplies. SIXTY EIGHT. There are dozens (if not many more) of young girls in each school missing school and falling behind simply because they are a woman and have their period.

That is why we need you to come to Hough’s on February 12th.  It isn’t about the beer (though their selection is spectacular). It isn’t about the cookies (COOKIES!). It isn’t about the great stuff you can win. It’s about kids struggling with problems way to big for their age and how you can make a difference in their life.

We hope to see your smiling face and big heart as we help those in need!

On the Spot at Industry Public House

It’s time for another On the Spot fundraiser!

Girls in Allegheny County are in continued need of your support to provide necessary menstrual supplies.Too many girls just don’t have access, too many girls skip school or spend days nervous preoccupied when they should be learning. Donate either $5 and a package of supplies (pads preferred) or $10 to make those awkward teenage years a lot less embarrasing for local ladies (and guys…yes, we collect hygiene products for young men, too!)

Back to School Bash!

Our Back to School Bash is one week from today! Please share and help girls who find themselves unsupplied and ‘on the spot.’ The new school year means many local girls are in desperate need of feminine hygiene products. School employees are providing supplies for girls out of their own pocket when faced with the overwhelming need for such help.

Join us and help Planned Parenthood stock up on much needed supplies for the new school year!

Back to School, Back to School

Going Back to School with On the Spot included wonderfully delicious baked goods, cold alcoholic beverages and a review of the confusion associated with a girl’s first period.

Thanks to all of your great donations, we raised over $1,000 and collected a over 1600 menstrual supplies to provide young, local girls with the menstrual products they need and deserve!

There were cookies:

We honed our gluttonous skills on bacon maple chocolate chip cookies, brownies, lemoncello cupcakes, baklava, chocolate salty balls, and even more goodies than you could imagine. We even had some vegan and gluten-free options!

Raffle prizes:

We sent supporters home with beer, wine, coffee, roller derby tickets, and many more great prizes.

We also sent one lucky winner home with two tickets to a Steelers game!

Thank you again to the wonderful people who donated prizes for the raffle!

Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak, our lovely celebrity reader, shared two stories from My Little Red Book:

Thanks again to everyone who came out!

Don’t forget! You can make donations year-round at one of our drop off locations.

It’s that time of year again when college students flood Oakland and local kids try to eek the last bit of fun out of summer.

But for many local girls, back to school means worrying about affording menstrual products along with back to school supplies.

We think one thing they shouldn’t have to worry about is how they are going to afford menstrual products or whether they will be able to go to school if they don’t have access. (read more about On the Spot here.)

Along with doing a good deed for local tween girls you can enjoy:

Cookie table

50/50 raffle

Silent auction

Drink specials (cheap booze anyone?)

The cover is $5 + a box of supplies (pads preferred) or $10.

If you have any questions, or would like to donate an item for the silent auction, send us an email here.

Cookies and Pads!

Last night was the inaugural On the Spot happy hour at the Over the Bar Cafe. The event was more fun and successful that we could have ever imagined.

Thanks to all of your generous donations, we raised over $600 and collected over 30 packages of supplies!

We were even fortunate enough to send everyone home with bags of cookies.

A special thanks to DJ Mary Mack for rocking out with fun music all night and Kellee Maize for putting on a great performance.

We’re also very grateful for everyone who donated a prize for the raffle: Beth Martin, Randy Francisco, Amy Garbella, Kellee Maize, and State Representative Chelsa Wagner!

And of course thanks to all of you for donating and partying it up with us!

Stay tuned for more info on BOGO sites and the next On the Spot happy hour!
